Size, weight and health

Whether the person is accustomed to taking it

Are you taking other medications at the same time

The amount taken.

 

Side effects

The most common side effects of acetaminophen are:

Drowsiness and fatigue

Rash and itching.

 

After taking paracetamol, children may occasionally experience low blood sugar and tremors, and feel hungry, dizzy and confused.

 

Too much

If the dose is too high or exceeds the recommended daily dose, an ambulance should be called immediately by dialing three zeros (000). The overdose symptoms listed below usually appear only 24 hours after taking the drug. An antidote can be given if an ambulance is called shortly after taking paracetamol.

 

Abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting

Liver problems

A seizure

Coma and death.

 

Death from acetaminophen overdose can take two to four days and is usually due to liver failure.

Regular use of paracetamol may eventually lead to the following effects. It is best to discuss long-term side effects with your doctor.
