I'm a surgery resident physician within the busiest hospitals within the pandemic epicenter, New York City. I have been working within the ED, ICU, and stepdown COVID units within the past month, which as you would expect, continues to be overwhelming. We have had patients everywhere lining hallways, outside tents, doubling even tripling rooms.
It continues to be pretty draining to utilize critically sick patients as well as their families who're scared, but not able to visit. The sheer number of death and codes that I have witnessed continues to be anxiety-inducing. But after the day, looking after patients as well as their families can also be my favorite job. It is what keeps me alive and what keeps me motivated!
Even when the work continues to be grueling, the time and effort of our staff and colleagues in answering the COVID-19 crisis continues to be awe-inspiring. As we weather this storm unlike any within our history, we might have seen the worst of the human condition, but the best of humanity.
As a bride-to-be, I have yet to test a single dress, because I was not capable of getting to any stores before the city turn off. I wish I could stay looking forward to my upcoming wedding, but I haven't had the power to most days. I want to appreciate your generosity as well as your gift to any or all healthcare workers who are a bride much like me!bohemian wedding dress.
