I have deeply loved and connected with each of Zappia’s novels. Read this one in an afternoon and while I wish there was a way to warn readers about the potential triggers in this story it’s near impossible without giving away the ending. Just know that like some of her other stories, the journey she is taking you on is layered. As a parent and someone who works with youth mental health in schools, the ending has me feeling deeply just how devastating things can get. Her ability to use otherworldly ways to tell such relatable stories always amazes me. She is such a gifted storyteller.
